The meaning of human existence. Why does a person live? Why are people needed on earth?

Both great philosophers and ordinary people searched for it. But none of them has yet come to a final conclusion, because this problem does not have a single solution. There are as many philosophical schools as there are opinions, and maybe even more.

And yet some were able to find logical answers that could explain the existence of man.

How often do we think about and live?

The most carefree time is childhood. During this period, we all run around like crazy around our homesteads, pretending to be pirates, superheroes, robots. Thousands of amazing ideas may swarm in our heads, but there is not a single question about the meaning of life. And why?

And only after crossing the threshold of adolescence does a person begin to look for an answer to it. “Why does a person live? What is its purpose? What is the meaning of my life? - all these questions troubled the hearts of each of us. But some quickly threw them away, switching to more pressing problems, while others, on the contrary, spent their whole lives in search of undeniable truth.

Ancient philosophers and the meaning of life

Aristotle once said: “Knowledge of the soul is the main task of a philosopher, since this can give answers to many questions...” Moreover, he believed that any thinker should look for meaning in everything, since this search is an integral part of ourselves. He taught that it is not enough to accept things as they are, you also need to understand why they are needed in this world.

The German philosopher Georg Hegel was also puzzled by the question of why man lives in this world. He believed that such a desire to know oneself is inherent in us by nature and is our true Self. Moreover, he argued: if you understand what role is assigned to a person, then it will be possible to unravel the purpose of other phenomena of the universe.

Also, do not forget about Plato and his thoughts about why man lives on earth. He was sure: the search for one's destiny is the highest good for a person. Partly, it was in these searches that his meaning of life was hidden.

God's plan, or Why do people live on the plan?

You can’t talk about the meaning of life without touching on the topic of religion. After all, all existing beliefs have on this issue. Their sacred texts contain clear instructions regarding how one should spend one's life and what is the highest good for a person.

So, let's look at the most common denominations.

  • Christianity. According to the New Testament, all people are born to live a righteous life, which will give them a place in heaven. Therefore, their meaning in life is to serve the Lord and also to be merciful to others.
  • Islam. Muslims are not too far removed from Christians; their faith is also based on serving God, only this time it is Allah. In addition, every true Muslim must spread his faith and fight the “infidels” with all his might.
  • Buddhism. If you ask a Buddhist: “Why does a person live?”, he will most likely answer: “To become enlightened.” This is precisely the goal that all followers of Buddha pursue: to purify their minds and move to nirvana.
  • Hinduism. Everyone has a divine spark - Atman, thanks to which a person is reborn after death in a new body. And if he behaved well in this life, then at the next rebirth he will become happier or richer. The highest goal of existence is to break the circle of rebirth and indulge in oblivion, which gives pleasure and peace.

Scientific point of view on human purpose

Questioned the supremacy of the church. This was due to the fact that humanity received another version explaining the appearance of life on Earth. And if at first only a few agreed with this theory, then as science developed, its adherents became more and more numerous.

But how does science look at the issue we are discussing? Why does man live on earth? In general, everything is quite simple. Since man evolved from an animal, their goals are similar. What is the most important thing for every living organism? That's right, procreation.

That is, from a scientific point of view, the meaning of life lies in finding a reliable partner, reproducing offspring and caring for them in the future. After all, this is the only way to save a species from extinction and ensure a bright future.

Disadvantages of previous theories

Now we should talk about what shortcomings there are in these concepts. After all, both scientific and religious hypotheses are not capable of giving a comprehensive answer to the question: “Why do people live on earth?”

The disadvantage of scientific theory is that it highlights a general goal that is ideal for the entire species as a whole. But if we consider the problem on the scale of one individual, then the hypothesis loses its universality. After all, it turns out that those who are not able to have children are completely deprived of any meaning in life. And a healthy person is unlikely to like existing with the thought that his only purpose is to pass on his genes to his offspring.

The position of religious communities is also imperfect. After all, most religions place above the earthly. Moreover, if a person is an atheist or an agnostic, then his existence is devoid of any meaning. Many people do not like this kind of dogma, so over the years the foundations of the church begin to weaken. As a result, a person is again left alone with the question “why do people live on earth.”

How to find the truth?

So what now? What to do if the scientific point of view is not suitable, and the church point of view is too conservative? Where can I find the answer to such an important question?

In fact, there is simply no universal solution to the problem. Each person is an individual and therefore unique. Everyone must find their own path, their own meaning and their own values. This is the only way to find harmony within yourself.

However, it is not necessary to always follow one path. The beauty of life is that there are no set rules or boundaries. Everyone has the right to choose specific ideals for themselves, and if they seem false over time, they can always be replaced with new ones. For example, many people work half their lives to make a fortune. And when they achieve this, they understand that money is far from the main thing. Then they again begin to search for the meaning of existence, which can make them more beautiful.

The main thing is not to be afraid to think: “Why do I exist and what is my purpose?” After all, if there is a question, then there will definitely be an answer to it.

I don't see the meaning of my existence. I lost interest in everything that previously interested me. All I do is lie, eat, sleep and worry. I am a second-year student of economics, and I chose a specialty that I liked, but the hostel, the students and teachers who don’t care, the meaninglessness of the “learning” process itself led to the fact that I lost all interest in studying, although I was one of the smartest students at school your area. They train not intelligent, thinking, creative people, but robots who move pieces of paper and press numbers on a calculator. Most likely, I will drop out of university because of debts. I tried a lot of things in the hope of finding a hobby I liked: I played football, was a winner of competitions, went jogging, did 30 km runs, played the trumpet, wrote scientific articles, played chess and checkers, but could not find anything to do. to your liking. I have constant problems with communication. I don’t understand the people around me, their values, I have nothing to talk to them about. I've never had a relationship, although I'm not a freak. The girl I've liked for the last 5 years got married a year ago and already has a child. I tried to forget about her, but it didn't work. I see no use for my own strengths: I have nothing and no one to work for, to achieve anything. Last October, I started writing a book, I had ideas on how cultural and economic prosperity could be achieved for Ukraine, but now, when people are completely maddened by lies, and the integrity of the country is under threat, I see no point in continuing to write. I tried to find a job, but it’s difficult for a full-time student with no work experience (considering that my hands are out of my ass). I just need to understand why, what people live for, are there any goals for which one can live? Where can I find the strength to do at least something? In the last three months, I have been increasingly visited by obsessive thoughts that I will never find a use for myself. And if so, is it worth living further?

We have a huge choice, you know, Igor, that’s the thing, we have to listen to ourselves and look for something specifically for ourselves. The purpose of life is to experience and understand life and oneself - maybe? I think it’s worth living for the fact that you can now meet a good friend, for example, you will need someone and meet a girl, because everything is just beginning for you. Now is the time when people again feel the need to unite for something useful, you can find friends with similar interests. Just look for such bright, passionate people, your heart will tell you. Now you just have a crisis, look for ways to overcome it. Strength to you, buddy.

I think that it makes sense for you to write your book. It could become, for example, your graduation project. By the time you write it, perhaps life in the country will become calmer, and you will have a reason for optimism. So work on the book, and then you will see where to move next.

Igor! The best minds were knocked off their feet, thinking about the meaning of life. There may be no answer to this question. Our brain is an insidious thing - it thinks and thinks. He chases the same thoughts in circles, switches his toggle switches, neuron climbs onto neuron. We get stuck in these thoughts. To live, we set some goals. So it turns out that we live in the past, the future. But not the real one. We don't enjoy every minute. Maybe you should set a goal to become happy?)))) not for anyone, but for yourself personally. Not to work and study for someone else, but for yourself? Don't listen to your brain, listen to your heart. What will bring you joy?

Let me add) you have (how do they say?) a crisis of the genre. Look around! Surely there are people next to you who have the same values and outlook on life? People who will understand you and live on the same wavelength... As for your girlfriend, then let go of thoughts about her. Allow yourself to rest a little, and then, you see, new ideas, goals and new love will appear)

Igor, it’s time for you and me to open a club of introverts) But for this we have to live!
And the goals are around like air, the first: God and family.
Next - nature, girl, music, drawing... The list is endless. May the Lord guide you!

Valeria, age: 18 / 06/04/2014

Igor, please, if you have time and opportunity, watch the lecture by A.I. Osipov. - “Life, why were you given to me.” She will help you answer many of your questions. I wish you to understand yourself.

Of course, you can write some nonsense - life is a journey, where what is more important is not the goal, but the path to it, but this is false, at least for those who are trying to be convinced by such prettiness.
Life is work and struggle (closer to the truth - whatever it may be - but unfounded). Fight for yourself, for your personality, and with yourself. Work on yourself and for yourself.
1. Education is a lot of things, but what you do with it is more important. You can be a “dude with a degree in economics,” or you can be a good economist.
2. You may never forget that girl; it’s easier to learn to live with the idea that you need someone else, not her. Moreover, five years and nothing has worked out. If you did something wrong (for example, you were not too decisive), draw conclusions and take them into account.
3. Hobbies, they come and go. We need to find a case. Do something every day, even some routine activity that brings you pleasure. Maybe modeling (you haven't tried that yet). Do something that you always wanted to do, but you didn’t dare, jump with a parachute, for example.
4. Your book can help you cope with your internal problems. By solving other people's problems, you distance yourself from your own (I know what I'm talking about).
5. It's summer, you can try to find an internship instead of a job. The salary is less (or none at all), but there is experience. This can help you evaluate or be completely disappointed in your chosen specialty.
And one last thing. You are young, your whole life is in front of you. It doesn’t matter that things are going badly now. Sooner or later you will graduate from university and begin your real adult life. You will begin to understand yourself better, and finally understand what you want (yourself, no one can tell you this).

Hello, Igor! Life requires dedication from a person. What does it have to do with Ostap Bender’s principle: “Money in the morning, chairs in the evening.” So are we. First we study, we strain ourselves, we achieve something, and only then we see what it was all for and what it gave us. And it never happens the other way around!
Is it possible to explain to a first-grader why they need to finish school?! He still doesn’t understand this deep down... He just loves his parents (or teacher), is used to trusting adults and does as he was told.
Only after finishing school do you become horrified at how hopelessly dense you would be if you hadn’t even learned at school...
After college, you usually feel that without the efforts you spent at university, you would not have had a chance to get closer to the profession. You wouldn’t be able to think like that, see like that, understand like that.
Like in the forest. You stand below - there is only a wall of trees around, wolves howl. No matter where you look, everything is equally bad. You start climbing up the tree - and with every meter you see more and more: a clearing, a river, and a village. But seeing is not yet being safe on the stove. It’s just a matter of seeing salvation and starting to make your way there. Long and difficult.
Education is our tree, which allows us to see a little further. It's just a chance.
A chance for what?! To become an irresistible pro? Rich? Famous? A star?! This is the American dream, completely alien to us. We also want to be pros, rich, and so on, but without the most important thing, we are empty on earth.
The most important chance for each individual is to gain strength, knowledge, skills, and opportunities in order to surround their loved ones with care. Parents, for example. To support someone, you have to stand on your own two feet. And not even so much in material terms. In the personal. Parents weaken and become like children.
You don't have any loved ones?! Not true! You don't want to notice them.
One example. My neighbor lives alone. It would seem, why does she need to bake pies, for whom?! But surprisingly, her pies have never gone missing. There are always eaters. Because she doesn’t reason “why? for whom?” She bakes them.
You need to do the good that you can at the moment. Goodness is always valuable. There is no point in reflecting. You will find your answers. Without a doubt.
It’s probably not entirely fair to write a book right now about how the whole of Ukraine should live. You have not yet seen a bright path for yourself. How to lead people to light and prosperity if you don’t even see it for yourself?! If you find it, you will write and tell others what to strive for, how to live and what to do in modern conditions. Then there is great benefit. But to benefit, you “just” need to work hard and believe all your life.

Reflections and debates about the meaning of life are endless - everyone has the right to decide for themselves how to manage their destiny. If life is a road, you want to know where it leads and what the rules of the road are. Only a few are destined to leave their mark on history, so should others seek the truth?

“Apriori, life has no meaning. We are the ones who create meaning for it.” These words belong to the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. People are born, live, die, one generation replaces another, but the question of what is the meaning of life remains open. Philosophers ponder over it, ordinary people ask themselves, but there is no simple answer, as if 2 multiplied by 2 equals 4, there is no such thing.

Everyone will answer it differently. Some see the meaning of life in love, others in children, others strive to get as much pleasure from life as possible, for others its meaning lies in harmony with the world around them, others chase success, while others don’t think about anything at all and live for today - there would be food and a roof over your head. Tatyana Tolstaya wrote about such people: “They leave life having understood little, often without receiving something important, and when they leave, they are perplexed like children: the holiday is over, but where are the gifts? And life itself was a gift, and they themselves were a gift...”

Why do people generally search for the meaning of life, why don’t they simply live like all other animals and birds? Or like in a fairy tale: “here they live in a little house, sing songs.” Why don’t they just want to be free, but are looking for a justification for their existence, want to be needed, to make their life meaningful?

Jean-Paul Sartre wrote: “Everything that exists is born without a reason... It is meaningless that we are born, it is meaningless that we die,” “Before we live life, it is nothing, but it depends on us whether we give it meaning " And as a result of his thoughts, he concludes: “The meaning of life does not exist, so you need to create it yourself!”

Understand your purpose

The Christian theologian, preacher and philosopher Augustine Aurelius was sure that every person was born for a reason - he was sent into the world to do some kind of work. But he himself does not know his purpose. Determine it, albeit by trial and error, and fulfill your mission - this is the meaning of human life. Is it possible to lie in bed, waste time, or mind your own business when there is so much to do?

Finding your own business, loving it, maximizing your potential - this is what many famous people who managed to realize themselves saw in this. And we focus on their opinions, because they have earned the right to be teachers and mentors.

Writer Boris Akunin says that only a few live their lives meaningfully, setting goals and achieving them. According to him, most people live to death, minding their own business and never understanding their purpose.

They live as if death is somewhere far in the future and generally happens to someone else, but not to them. Otherwise, it is unclear why people are so wasteful with time.

And suddenly one day they notice how difficult it has become to climb the stairs, how fans have disappeared somewhere, how girls or boys, whom they still look at with interest, give up their seat on the bus, and in the yard someone suddenly calls them grandma or grandpa. And then they come to their senses and run after the last car of the departing train, hoping to catch up and manage in a short time to do what they refused or ignored for years.

But alas... We have the power to return many things, but not time. The Wise One, the author of “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer”, “The Prince and the Pauper” and others, addressed people: “Cast off from a quiet pier, feel the fair wind in your sails, move forward, dream, discover! After all, in 20 years you will regret more the things you DIDN’T do than the ones you did!”

But many people do not want or are unable to leave their usual comfort zone. It seems like they are living, and at the same time they are not living, but vegetating. And they complain of apathy, depression, lack of interest in life. Someone rightly noted that doing nothing is one of the most tiring activities in the world. And doctors say that prolonged stay in the comfort zone leads to personality degradation.

American psychologist Abraham Maslow said that the unhappy person will be the one who deliberately intends to be less than he could be. But we don’t want to be unhappy, so we must act! “Knowledge of oneself lies in action, but not in contemplation,” wrote.

The meaning of human life is “to give life to oneself, to become what we potentially are... The most important fruit of human efforts is one’s own personality,” this was the conclusion made by the German philosopher and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm.

The meaning of life as Steve Jobs saw it

Addressing graduates of Stanford University, the founder, who professed Buddhism, gave them life advice so that in search of their destiny they would not wander in the fog, but would see the light indicating the direction.

Once upon a time a phrase caught his eye that greatly impressed him and influenced his future decisions, and indeed his whole life. Its meaning was that if you live every day as if it were your last, then someday it will happen. “Yes, he hasn’t arrived yet, but would you like to do on your last day what you have to do today?” - asked Steve Jobs. And if the answer is “no,” then you urgently need to change your life while there is still time and opportunity.

Listen to your heart, he said, rely on your intuition, even if you suddenly decide that you have turned off the right path. Your heart and intuition will tell you what to do. Be brave, follow your heart, search for something you love and love what you do, don't stop searching and don't stop believing that you will find it.

Human life is limited by time. However, people do not want to die - and even those who expect to end up in heaven. But death is inevitable. Natural death has a noble mission, Jobs noted, because in order for the new to sprout, the old must die. Someday you too will grow old, he addressed the students, and in the same way life will get rid of you.

Therefore, while you are alive and young, do not waste time, look for your purpose, listen only to your inner voice, do not allow it to be drowned out by other voices, do not live someone else's life. “Stay hungry and stay foolish!” Steve Jobs ended his speech.

To begin with, I’ll ask a simple question: what does a person value most in life? Right! Life! Why was life given to man? Why does a person live?

We don’t usually ask this question. Live and that's it! Are you the smartest? This scares some, irritates others... Most people cannot be lured into this issue by any carrots.

Dear friend, why are you reading this article? To relax, unwind after work or study. Why do you need to rest? So that tomorrow you can go to work with renewed vigor. Why go to work? Well, make money so you have something to eat! Why is there a reason? To work. And work to...

So what is a person? Man is just a machine for consuming food and producing...? Were you born to pass tons of food through yourself and die?

Let's dig even deeper.

Dear friend, were you born of your own free will? Think back to your early years. You sit, think, and suddenly it dawns on you: Now I’m going to be born! And he was born. Was it like that?

I don't think it was quite like that. Not at all like that. Or maybe someone else was born on his own? There are no initiators observed. Please note: out of the blue, we appeared in this world. Something or someone threw us here. When a person passes away, one often hears: why, why does the person die. But I never heard: why, why he was born. Why and for what does a person live?

Do you live according to your own will? Well, of course, you answer, I’m sitting, reading, chewing something. It turns out that you yourself tensed up, and your heart began to beat, your lungs began to breathe, and your stomach began to digest? You may not live by your own will, but you cannot live! Someone blows into us a vital force that makes a pile of meat, bones, organs live and be called a person.

Someone started us up, and it started spinning and spinning: picked up in the morning, teeth, coffee, run to work, run from work, dinner, sofa, TV, bed. Before I knew it, 60 years had already passed. Looking back, what was all this for? Why this running around, this commotion? What was the purpose of these 60 years?

Tell me, does a person die of his own free will? Do you know a lot of people who want to die quickly, or maybe you’ve seen the queues? As a rule, everyone believes that they will live forever. It's there, they die, and I will live. And yet no one has yet met immortals.

So what happens a person is a piece on a chessboard - he is not born of his own will, he lives and dies not of his own will. And we thought that man is the king of nature, the master of his life.

And indeed, man is the master, but in small things: where to go, what to learn, what to read. But the main thing, his life, is not controlled by him.

Someone threw us onto the stage of life, and we immediately ran around importantly and began to fuss. Why do we live?

At a certain moment, a person simply found himself living. And he spends all this life given to him on how to live, but does not ask why he was given life, what is the meaning of a person’s life.

Didn’t the thought occur to you: I’ll be gone, and what will happen? Everyone will be sad for a short time, and life will move on, and nothing will change.

Question: what was I needed for?

Listen to this paradox: if a person was born to live, then why does a person die? And if he ends up dying, then why should he have been born? A?

What if there is no purpose or meaning in life? - you ask! What if there is?

Have you ever wondered why a person seeks the meaning of life? Where does he get such a need? Just imagine: they told you: dig a hole here measuring 4 by 4. We will pay. What is the hole for? - you ask. - Dig, don’t worry, the guys will come after lunch and bury it.

Tell me, are you willing to work? Someone gave us the innermost need of the soul - to look for purpose and meaning in everything, including in life. A person needs to live for something, for someone.

Everyone deals with this differently.

Some get by without any purpose at all. The latter intuitively, by chance, find the meaning of life. And still others have so many goals in life that they have no time to rest! The children have to check their homework, write a report, dig up the dacha, run there, run from here!

Such a person retires and all his false goals in life disappear, and then what? Then a brilliant thought dawns on the grandmother: I will devote myself to my grandchildren! She energetically pushes her daughter-in-law away: That’s it, now I’ll take care of the grandchildren! And grandpa? And grandfather is saved by an unstable and troubled life in... Australia. The dollar is growing, the Australian ruble is falling, gasoline is becoming more expensive - explosions, actions, protests - life is in full swing, life is filled with meaning! He's at work. Sits in front of the TV or newspaper. Worried.

For a long time, we have no thoughts at all about the meaning of life. The goals of life are handed to us. You immediately need to finish school well, then college, then get a job, get married, have children, so that you can be like other people.

We made money, got a job, have children. Groovy... What now? After all, everything seems to be in the house already, even the faucet was replaced and the wallpaper was re-glued. Imagine a tragic situation where nothing affects a person: a day off, bought everything in the store, cleaned the house, listened to the news, what next? Emptiness... Life is empty. But the soul asks for meaning, aches, knocks. The soul is looking for something.

And she will find it. Argue with your wife, go fishing with friends, go shopping - to keep life in full swing, to be busy. Each one runs away from life in his own way, each one is busy - he has no time for empty questions about the meaning of life, there is no time to stop for a second. Maybe he's in a completely different direction?

Thus, everything in life is given to a person. There is only one right to choose - to independently fill your life with meaning. We are used to running away from this question and hushing it up, but let's stop for a second and ask:

Why does a person live?

You ask: What is the purpose of life and the meaning of life in general? Live in the process, enjoy!

And indeed, many do just that - they live in the process. They study, work, buy, mine, relax, rejoice, are sad, without thinking about what the ultimate goal of this whole life is.

Now let's try to show what it looks like. Vasily comes home, and there Maria is cooking porridge on low heat. Vasily already wants to eat, but the porridge is slowly cooking. Vasily just today received his entire salary for the month with a bonus and also vacation pay. And he - once this stack of money - is thrown into the fire. To burn brighter.

- Aah! Vaska! - Maria wailed, “what have you done, this is all our money, you worked for it for a whole month!”

“Calm down, Masha,” Vasily answers her, “money is not the main thing for me, I like the process of work itself, live in the process!”

And one jumped from the 50th floor: Yoohoo, breeze! Don't interfere with my life! I feel good as it is, I like the process of flying!

This is what our “live in process” looks like when we don’t understand why we live and what the ultimate meaning of our life is. No matter how much you run away from life, no matter how much you close your eyes, there will definitely be a landing in the end. In the end, life will definitely catch up and hit you painfully.

So what do we live for?

You will say: For children, children are our joy, children are the meaning of life! Many people actually do this.

Let me ask then, if we live for children, what do they live for? That's right, for your children. And those - for their own. Then, if those last children are needed, why did they produce you? So I gave them a start!

Okay, but do we just live for the children? We see our meaning in life in this. For example, Senya is running across the football field after the ball, out of breath, his knees are knocked out. All immersed in thoughts about future children. After all, this is what he lives for.

The purpose of life is to do good!- you exclaim. - Move the old lady across the road, feed the homeless kittens. Fine. How many hours are there in a day - 24! How long did you translate for the old lady - 2 minutes! What did you do the rest of the time? Watching for her?

The meaning of life is work? Then the unemployed have no meaning in life.

The meaning of life is to heal people, teach, build houses? Then, on a desert island, people lose the meaning of life.

What will a person take with him from this life? Food, furniture, car? Or maybe money? Maybe just cover the grave.

A man takes nothing to his grave: he came naked and leaves naked!

So what was this man's purpose in life?

Everything we have listed - work, cars, children - these are not the goals of life. This is what we filled our lives with in the absence of the meaning of life.

People took good care to somehow fill their lives, to last until the grave: music, cinema, the Internet, a new phone, a new video, a disco.

Saying that a person was created to work, raise children, study is the same as saying that a car was created to brake, honk, and flash its headlights. What is the whole car for? What is the whole person for?

If a person lives without the meaning of life, his whole life, all his actions and achievements turn into nonsense and self-deception. Let's illustrate with an example.

A large beautiful snow-white ship leaves the port. All the people are scurrying here and there, everyone is smiling, busy with interesting and important holiday bustle. Everyone makes themselves comfortable in the cabin. People are having fun, discussing the latest news, and are full of plans for the future. But then the gaze shifts to the name of the ship: “Titanic”. And my heart aches with pity. Instantly all actions, all fuss seems absolutely meaningless and unnecessary.

If we know that there is no meaning to life, then our entire life and achievements become meaningless and unnecessary.

Having the meaning of life, the purpose of life, we have a clear plan on how to build our life.

And we live without any plans: I worked there, left that, got married to this one, divorced that one. This is how life works.

But our life looks so sad only if it has no meaning. What if there is meaning in life? If you try, look?

The presence of the meaning of life, the purpose of life fills life itself with a completely different content, gives life a clear order. A person will not need to look for something to do with his free time. On the contrary, a person will chase every second. Perhaps, outwardly, a person with the meaning of life is the same person as others. But internally such a person, such a personality stands on a fundamentally higher level.

Why do people live on Earth? Many people have thought about this question, but no one has been able to give an accurate, comprehensive answer. Nobody. For some reason, everyone has their own meaning, their own answer. Everyone has a different one. And everyone, nevertheless, somehow unexpectedly, comes to a common opinion: there are no two identical points of view on this problem. Simply because no two people are completely alike, identical in every way. It simply doesn't exist. Maybe here lies the solution, each person, each individual, represents a unique world, with its own unique meaning of life? Why not?
Ask anyone why he lives, and what will you hear in response? Nothing. The majority find it difficult to answer, but the rest, if not tomorrow, then the day after tomorrow, or in a year, will say the exact opposite of what they say now. But the paradox of the situation is that we actually know the meaning. At every second, at every minute, we know, otherwise we would stop and freeze. And they would not move until they found the meaning of existence. Even a seemingly insignificant task actually has a colossal power of action, because it makes us move and be filled with meaning. Yes, of course, we can say that this cannot in any way be the meaning of life, the meaning of our existence. Then let's take any so-called global meaning, i.e. the biggest meaning, again it is different for most. Some want to achieve everything in this life, while others, on the contrary, want to gain all the benefits after death. But where is the meaning, we all come into this world with nothing, we leave with nothing, we will all die someday, maybe the meaning is in constant pleasure and gaining benefits, but why do we need them after death. On the other hand, what happens after death, there is also no consensus on this matter. The afterlife, eternal life after death (the meaning of eternal life is generally a thing that can’t fit into your head, I wonder if it exists?), the cycle of lives, reincarnation, and the like. Many see this as the only meaning of existence. This is what usually a person, without accurate knowledge and facts, wraps around hypotheses, fiction, myths, assumptions, etc. sometimes completely unnecessary. A lot has been said and written about this, and has been for quite some time. And here everyone tries to offer something of their own.
Maybe then you really should look inside a person and ask him specifically, not some average person, but a living, real, individual person. And listen to what he tells us. And his judgment about the meaning of life will be the meaning of existence, but only his existence. And no one else.
