Convert the bus into a nightclub. Profitable business: cafe on wheels

In our country, many have already heard about the newfangled party buses - a new idea of entertainment for party lovers, which have already appeared on the streets of many large foreign cities.

Party buses are something like a beautiful limousine-accelerator, since it not only accommodates a noisy and cheerful company, it provides almost club-like special effects, a dance floor, karaoke and other entertainment, and in full size.

The “Party Bus” project is a new idea for making money that can be put on stream. Any entrepreneur who is ready to make money by purchasing a bus and completely converting it into a stylish entertainment center on wheels can make young party-goers who do not appreciate the pleasure of a nightclub on wheels happy. A brand new bus will soon adequately reward the owner for such a fashionable upgrade.

For a club bus, you can choose any model of a regular domestic serial bus.

.
Inside the bus you should install everything you need for a fashion club, and this is:

  • — small soft sofas to comfortably accommodate 18-20 people;
  • — bar counters with a good assortment;
  • — 1-2 plasma panels with 1m diagonals;
  • — a lot of mirrors that will be an excellent addition to the interior and will increase the small space of the party-bass;
  • — a dance area with modern special effects and powerful kilowatts of sound;
  • — karaoke for two microphones;
  • — smoke machine;
  • - a toilet like in a stationary club may not fit, but you can install an alternative - a bio-toilet, since the club (mandatory!) must have one;
  • - dressing room;
  • - fridge;
  • - heating and air conditioning.

To make a profit in a short time, visitors need to be provided with free movement inside the bus at the same time as safe movement around the city. Modern fashionable music must certainly be played on the bus. Club bus guests are not prohibited from bringing drinks and food with them.

In party-bus you can hold a themed party, birthday, wedding, hen or stag party, corporate party, meeting of classmates and other fun events, setting a certain cost for renting a club on wheels. You can also develop certain discount systems for regular visitors, or come up with auction club days.

You can study the numerous experiences of other entrepreneurs who have created their own successful franchise business in the section of our website:

The most successful and informative case, according to the editors of the Russtarup portal:

An interesting experience of creating a business under a franchising program is presented

If entrepreneurs want to put such an idea into production, then they can choose a way to make money through franchising, namely, become franchisors (owners) and, for a certain fee (royalty), transfer their business idea to interested entrepreneurs (franchisees).

At the same time, it is possible to develop different business packages: in one package, provide all the marketing tools plus consultations on converting a regular bus into a party-bus, and in another package, in addition to the previous package, provide the conversion tools themselves (equipment, installation, etc.) .

It is best to post information about your franchise on sites with business ideas, where future franchisees can learn how to make money with this business.

This business idea certainly has a future. Buses can give limousines a run for their money, as you can have a much more fun time in them.

And, since young people always choose movement and freedom of movement, they will visit stationary cafes and clubs less often, increasingly choosing to visit a fashionable party-bass, because it is always a new experience. Good luck everyone!

Many entrepreneurs dream of starting their own catering business. One of the pretty good business ideas is a cafe on wheels.

This cafe is unusual in appearance and attracts with low prices. An establishment of this type can be a pretty good competitor to ordinary cafes and restaurants.

Business ideas on wheels are new to our country. It won't cost much to make such an idea a reality. You can fulfill the wishes of the guest that a regular restaurant cannot - to come to your guest.

Specifics of a mini-cafe on wheels

Before opening an establishment of this type, you need to decide on the number of visitors. Based on the type of your establishment and the prices of products, children, schoolchildren and students will come to you more often.

Each entrepreneur of such a business must come up with an original style for his establishment. First of all, you need to think about the interior of a cafe on wheels. Since the cafe is mobile, you need to take care of soundproofing so that it does not disturb your customers.

It would be nice to have audio and video acoustics that can be used not only during a banquet, but also on weekdays. If you decide to hold events in your establishment that will bring you considerable additional profit, then do not forget about the entertainment program and banquet menu.

You also need to think about cafe routes in advance, and don’t forget about all the attractions of your city. You can come up with various promotions that suit your establishment, for example, discounts for regular customers, as well as discounts on birthdays. Don’t forget to create a book of regular customers whom you would notify about your promotions via SMS or phone.

Cafe menu on wheels

As for the menu, a special approach is needed for such an establishment. It is necessary to exclude alcoholic products for your visitors. In extreme cases, you can include low-alcohol cocktails. A mobile café on wheels cannot have its own kitchen, which means that the café will work on highly prepared semi-finished products, that is, those that just need to be heated.

These can be the following dishes: soups, side dishes and baked goods. You can enter into an agreement with any restaurant, cafe, or even a canteen - it’s up to you. If your budget allows, then, of course, it is better to order from a good establishment. Don’t forget that if you buy fried salmon in a restaurant at one price, you won’t be able to sell it at your place at the same price; it will be too expensive for your cafe.

Hiring workers

To serve customers, you will need a driver, a waiter and a so-called cook who will heat and prepare coffee. If you want your establishment to work seven days a week, and this is desirable, then you need to hire 2 or 3 people (1 person per shift). It is advisable that drivers have experience.

Necessary kitchen utensils

For a café on wheels, you need to select the necessary equipment, but keep in mind the following: if it suddenly gets very dirty, there will be no place to wash it. Your cafe is moving, and a glass glass standing on the table can fall at any moment. If you break 100 glasses, you will have to count your loss.

Necessary equipment for a cafe:

  • Kitchen.
  • 2 tables for equipment.
  • Microwave oven.
  • Coffee machine.
  • A couple of refrigerators.
  • Cabinets for storing dishes.
  • Dishwasher (if the dishes are reusable) or containers for used disposable dishes.
  • Forks, spoons, semi-portioned plates, small cutlery, saucers, trays, napkin holders, bread bins, etc.
  • Chairs and tables are plastic or wooden. All furniture must be screwed to the wall and floor of the bus.

Necessary conditions for a cafe

Do not forget about heating in winter, heating the lower steps, and in hot weather - air conditioning. As for parking, you can negotiate it with one transport company in your city. There are two ways to organize this type of business:

  • Buy a franchise.
  • Create your own brand.

The franchise price is quite high, it is 90 thousand euros, today it is 4,410,000 rubles. This includes: double decker bus (American made), trademark rights, initial advertising campaign and formulation. But in Russia they try not to mess with this type of transport, but buy our domestic ones and make a cafe-bus to their liking. In addition, you need to collect the necessary documents:

  • Permission to open a cafe on the bus.
  • Medical examination certificate for all employees.
  • Permission from fire safety authorities.
  • License for the sale of goods and alcohol.
  • Document with positive results of sanitary inspections.

Planned start-up costs

Bus - 2,800,000 rubles.
Equipment - about 150 thousand rubles, depending on how much you will install.
Decoration of a cafe and interior - 90-120 thousand rubles.
Total: 3,050,000-3,070,000 rubles.

Monthly expenses:
For fuel - (consumption 30l/100 km, 100 km per day, 25 rubles per liter) - 23.25 thousand rubles.
Bus maintenance - 15 thousand rubles.
Salaries of employees: 2 drivers - 20 thousand rubles, waiter - 15 thousand rubles, cook - 10 thousand rubles, accountant - 7 thousand rubles.
Total: 142.25 thousand rubles.

Enterprise profit

If we take on average that a mobile cafe on wheels will pay for itself in a couple of years, then every month you can receive 125 thousand rubles in revenue. With an average bill of one hundred rubles per client and a 50% markup, the establishment must serve 100-120 visitors every day, these figures are completely realistic. With such a profit, the enterprise will not operate at a loss for itself.

Problems of opening an unusual cafe

The cafe-bus is an extraordinary establishment and quite interesting, but unfortunately, the sanitary-epidemiological station and other stations responsible for the cleanliness of the enterprise are in big question. The question is whether this type of business may not be a reality. Maybe even easily, let's look at the reasons.

Rospotrebnadzor will be against such a bus driving around the city, because the catering enterprise must be connected to city communications. Fire safety rules state that catering establishments, without exception, must have two emergency exits, while buses have only one door.

If your city’s population does not exceed 200 thousand people, then such a cafe should not be opened. The population of such cities has their own opinion; it is cheaper for them to go home for lunch than to go to a cafe. The next problem concerns Russian roads. Any stop provokes a spill of drinks and hot dishes. Based on this, only packaged dishes should be included in the cafe menu.

Positive aspects of a mobile cafe

Not every day and not every season will be profitable. For example, in the warm season your business will be useful for the population, but on frosty or stormy days no one will come to you. Although the authorities themselves have a negative attitude towards this type of business, such a cafe would be useful on major holidays, such as the parade on May 1 and 9, and other events.

Having listed all the disadvantages of such an establishment, we doubt whether such a business will pay off and whether it will make a profit at all. A normal profit comes from an establishment with 50 seats or more, and such a bus can accommodate about 20-30 people. Despite this, nothing can stop a determined entrepreneur and he will make it a reality. With a lot of effort and patience, you can make such a business quite good.

In different countries, a mobile cafe on wheels is considered acceptable, for example, in Japan. Only in this country do they prepare such snacks as takoyaki dough balls, the main component of which is octopus. In addition to cafes on wheels, there are many businesses of this kind around the world, take San Francisco, for example.

There is a mobile restaurant made from an old bus for schoolchildren, and this restaurant is very popular. It is regarded more as an entertainment option with an assortment of fast food menus.

The first project of such a mobile restaurant was launched in Los Angeles in 2008 by chef Roy Choi. It offered visitors Korean and Mexican cuisine. Such a business also exists in China, where it is also very popular due to the huge population.

Several years ago, the Moscow government gave the green light to entrepreneurs to open such a business, but so far they only serve drinks. In many cities of Russia, cafe-trams or cafe-trolleybuses travel in the summer. This type of establishment will look good in cities with a large influx of tourists. If the population wants to see this type of public catering enterprise, then the government will allow such a business to exist in every city.

Holidays were, are and will be an integral part of our lives. A matinee in kindergarten, a birthday, a graduation party, a wedding, a bachelorette party, a reunion - and this is only a small part of the festive occasions. There are many significant events, but are there enough unusual places to hold them?

It is difficult to surprise modern people: everyone is bored with restaurants and nightclubs, and if there are not so many of them in your city, then the likelihood of holding an original holiday decreases. Where can you spend the evening today so that you and your guests will remember it for a lifetime?

Among the “finds” of our time, Party Bus stands out - a nightclub on wheels. In such a bus you can not only ride around the city, but also dance, sing karaoke, drink a cocktail and chat with guests.

This unusual entertainment appeared in Western countries. For example, schoolchildren from the USA and Europe have been successfully celebrating their graduations in such clubs on wheels for many years in a row. Western mothers, however, are becoming more and more worried: young people are bringing alcohol into the club.

But let’s digress from the problems of foreign teenagers and their parents. In Russia, clubs on wheels also enjoy some popularity, although they are far from Western standards. Why did Russians like Party Bus?

Firstly, partygoers have the right to independently choose the music that will be played at the festival, and secondly, there will be no “extra” people on such a bus at the event. Moreover, you won’t have to overpay for drinks, since you can bring them with you. And finally, many people simply want an unusual and bright holiday that will be remembered for a long time.

But a club on wheels is a godsend not only for those who like to have fun, but also for those who have always dreamed of opening their own business in the entertainment industry. Such a bus has a number of advantages over a regular nightclub.

- Small investment. To open an ordinary nightclub, you will have to invest a tidy sum in renting a suitable premises, its equipment, paying salaries to staff, etc. A club on wheels will require less investment. A ready-made and fully equipped bus can be purchased for a price starting from 2 million rubles.

- Simplicity. An ordinary nightclub will require a lot of permitting documentation, from a license to sell alcohol to permits from Rospotrebnadzor. But in the case of Party Bus, all this is optional.

- Multifunctionality. The nightclub is not suitable for all holidays; only “adult” events can be organized there: stag and hen parties, birthdays. But the bus will allow you to organize a graduation party, and even, if desired, a children’s party.

- Competition. Is it worth comparing the number of regular clubs in each city and the number of “fun” buses plying the streets? Clubs on wheels are not found everywhere. Moscow and St. Petersburg have already gotten used to them, but for more remote cities they are still a novelty.

Where to start?

Of course, to release the Party Bus onto the city streets, it is not enough to buy a bus and hire a driver. This is still a club, and not just a means of transportation. And it must be equipped accordingly.

Of course, the process of preparing a bus is not an easy task. Maxim Grigoriev, the owner of Party Bus in Kazan, took about 5 months to re-equip. He recalls:

“In moments when I felt so discouraged that I wanted to give up everything and sell, fortunately, some stage of construction was coming to an end and I could enjoy the results.”

A club on wheels begins with the purchase of a “donor” - a bus, the interior of which will have to be completely disassembled. It is best to buy a new vehicle rather than a used one.

Re-equipment is best coordinated with the relevant structures, says Anton Makarov, owner of Party Bus in Yekaterinburg.

If you properly arrange the conversion and register it with the traffic police, then there will be no problems in the future

By the way, how long a bus will last largely depends on the quality of its conversion. Therefore, irrational savings will work against you here. First of all, pay attention to noise and vibration insulation of the interior. This will not only ensure the comfort of guests, but also retain heat in winter. And is it worth reminding us that in the summer the interior must be air-conditioned?

Also take care of power sources: the bus will require lighting, music and other equipment (disco ball, laser, RGB lighting, speakers, smoke machine, etc.).

And of course, don’t forget about the furniture. Clubs on wheels are usually equipped with comfortable leather sofas.

It is worth paying attention to the reinforcement of the frame: sofas are constantly in motion, they are ridden by drunk people in large numbers.

Get ready for the fact that in the first six months, until the project is promoted, you will actually have to work to zero.

Finance

How much revenue your bus can generate depends on how many hours it travels around the city. It doesn’t matter to you whether it’s rented by two people or thirty-two. Renting a club on wheels is paid by the hour and usually costs 5-7 thousand rubles, although you can set the price yourself. Often the rule is that you can rent a bus for at least two hours.

The main expenses of an RV club as a business are payroll and resources. On staff you will need a driver on a permanent salary and a bartender. How much to pay them depends on the average rate in your area.

Party Bus - high fuel consumption. To move the bus itself, an average of 30 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km is required, but the generators that provide music, lighting equipment and air conditioning consume up to 2 liters per hour.

Do not forget also that the bus must “rest” somewhere while it is not traveling around the city. This means that you will also have to consider the cost of paying for a parking space.

The modern sphere of entertainment and recreation is so saturated with a variety of offers that sometimes it seems that it is simply impossible to come up with something fresh and original. As for aspiring entrepreneurs, every day it becomes more and more difficult for them to break into the “pie” of the entertainment business. All areas have long been occupied by market old-timers. It's very difficult for beginners. Especially if they are not trying to come up with something new, but are only using already trodden paths.

Fortunately, not all market players think in patterns. Some of them are trying their best to create something truly new and unusual. Or at least they simply rework existing business ideas and, as a result, receive new types of income.

Today we want to touch upon such an area of the entertainment business as organizing parties and other festive events. The same ones that used to be held in clubs, restaurants, bars and other popular establishments. Of course, clubs, cafes and bars remain relevant today. But their popularity has declined somewhat. This is especially true for nightclubs. Clients are already tired of all this monotony. They want something new. Something fresh. Something non-standard.

What new can you come up with in the case of the same nightclubs? New interior. New selection of music. New show. Or maybe a new menu. Yes, of course, all of this can work. Or it might not work. After all, there are many competitors. And they are all making similar changes in the operation of their establishments. As a result, if a client visits several clubs, then he does not see anything new. More drastic changes are needed. Something truly original.

What if you move the club to an unusual place? This is not about a new building or another area of the city. This is all too banal. But to create it is really cool, original, unusual.

Buses for parties and celebrations

Our compatriots have already managed to bring this business idea to life. From the northern capital - St. Petersburg. The author of the unusual project (Barbus company) was Alexander Berest. It was he who came up with the idea of taking an ordinary passenger bus and building a real nightclub on its base.

Previously, Alexander had already dealt with the entertainment industry. He was the owner of one of the St. Petersburg nightclubs. The business was going well, but at one point Alexander and his friends decided to come up with something more original. During a brainstorming session, someone came up with the idea of a dance bus that traveled around Ibiza. This is how the idea of creating some kind of symbiosis of a bus and a nightclub was born.

Initially, the guys wanted to use a trolleybus as transport for parties. But later this idea was abandoned, since this type of transport cannot move around the city as freely as an ordinary bus. So we came to the decision to use an ordinary passenger bus as a basis.

The first bus cost the guys 500 thousand rubles. But its conversion into a full-fledged club required spending in the amount of 4.5 million rubles. There are three zones inside the bus - a bar section, a relaxation area and, of course, a dance floor.

Barbus currently has three full-fledged party buses in its inventory. A small bus that seats up to 20 people. An ideal option for small cozy companies. The second bus is a little larger. It can comfortably accommodate up to 30 people. There is also the largest bus with a capacity of up to 50 people. It is often rented for small weddings, corporate events and other festive events. And now the Barbus company is building another bus, which will be equipped in a retro style.

The rental cost for the client depends on the chosen bus. The average option costs 30 thousand rubles for four to five hours of rental. That is, per day, at full capacity, you can realistically receive about 60 thousand rubles. And in a month the amount will come up to about 1.8 million. From one bus. But, as you yourself understand, this is only possible with ideal calculations. In reality, orders do not happen every day. Nevertheless, according to Alexander Berest himself, the monthly turnover of the Barbus company currently reaches 600 thousand rubles. Very, very good.

Interestingly, there are still very, very few such party buses these days. The vast majority of cities cannot boast of this type of entertainment. Perhaps it's time to act. Good luck!
